Darrell
and Dawna Motz built a separate building on their family
farm in 1995 to be home to That Country Place, a unique and
cozy shop for country and Victorian accents, crafts and gifts.
It was the start to a steady business idea that would help
diversify the family farm and allow Dawna to remain at home
with their two sons.
In 1998, the couple came across an old 1930’s
farmhouse and had it moved 60 miles to their farm. Darrell
and Dawna could see the potential it would hold as the next
step in their business as a cozy Tea Room.
After months of hard work, the walls of the
old house were filled with the sounds of people enjoying
a cup of tea, a delicious lunch with friends and special
occasions.
The last step to developing the house to
its full potential saw the couple stepping into another area
of hospitality. In November of 2001, That Country Place Bed & Breakfast
was ready to welcome overnight guests.
2005 has seen some more changes as the gift
shop part of the building has been renovated to make room
for another Bed & Breakfast room.
A special invitation is yours to experience
everything That Country Place has to offer.
